Dear Dr. Felix:

I wanted to officially let OptiGen know that voting on how to handle disclosure of OptiGen prcd test results for U.S. residents and ACDCA, Inc. members has concluded and the votes have been tallied.

You will recall that OptiGen offered to follow the wishes of the parent club in each country with respect to disclosure of test results in those countries and for their members.

The ACDCA, Inc. ballot gave three options: mandatory disclosure of Pattern A's only; mandatory disclosure of Patterns A's and B's; or mandatory disclosure of all results--Pattern's A, B and C. Pros and cons of each approach were discussed on the material that accompanied the ballot.

The members voted to disclose all results on the OFA site. 256 members voted and the breakdown was as follows: 85 for disclose A's; 46 for disclose A's and B's; 123 for disclosure of all patterns. As usual, there were a couple of invalid ballots.

This level of disclosure should not apply to those who tested or sent in samples under the interim guidelines--OFA will post only the A's then communicate with the owners of the B's and C's to request their permission to post.

We understand that you can't screen for ACDCA, Inc. members who are not U.S. residents. We will rely on their integrity and normal club processes regarding any failure to participate in the disclosure program.

Your support in changing the wording on the OptiGen site (with an effective date of samples received on or after July 15) would be appreciated.
