| May 2004 Dear ACDCA Members, In order to clarify and update the status of the ACDCA with the IRS and the California FTB, the club needs to restate its Aritcles of Incorporation. Since the ACDCA is the parent and a member club of the AKC, the ACDCA is more than just a mutual benefit corporation for the benefit of its members but is more a nation wide public benefit corporation for social welfare. The AKC itself is a public benefit corporation. This restatement requires an affirmative vote from 2/3 of the voting membership. The board of directors strongly urges you to vote for this restatement. This will not change the running of the club, but, is necessary to insure our non-profit status with the IRS and FTB.
