Welcome to the 37th annual ACDCA National Specialty! We are looking forward to a unique and fun-filled week of everything cattle dog, with friends, new and old.
Over time, we and our amazing dogs have faced and overcome many obstacles. But 2020 has been particularly challenging. Versatile. Adaptive. Resilient. We carry on, safely,—Cattle Dog Strong!
The Gold Coast Australian Cattle Dog Club and other members of the ACDCA community, have worked extra hard to produce this specialty. Our committee members, and many others, have volunteered “behind the scenes” and spent countless hours to make this National safe and enjoyable.
The pandemic certainly creates special challenges, but we plan and persevere with new safety protocols, consistent with relevant AKC, state and local guidelines. We are looking forward to a friendly event with diverse activities that reflect the range of interests of ACD lovers.
Our events are scheduled between Saturday, September 12th and Friday, September 18th (see the schedule on page 5). In addition to our AKC trials and shows, we will feature our popular events like Dingo Bingo and some new activities! These include dock diving and barn hunt, presented by two partner organizations, and four all-breed herding trials (with priority entry to ACD’s). This year’s agility trials are all-breed also with priority to ACD’s.
We also hope you have a chance to visit the historic town of Red Bluff, the “Victorian City on the River” -- the county seat of Tehama. The local community has been very supportive of our events. Let’s pay it forward!
I hope you are all saying, “California Here I Come” and planning to join us in Red Bluff. See you there!
Welcome One and All!
